I like the idea of Home Depot 'protecting' consumers by not allowing gift cards to be delivered to PO boxes but I fail to see how it protects users. Something tells me that this may actually protect Home Depot from having to refund lost cards or it serves as a way for them to make sure the gift cards get used rather than sitting in a box somewhere and sticking on their financial books.
Other facts around Home Depot gift cards is that they can be shipped for free to your destination and they promise delivery between 2 and 10 days. My gut tells me 6 days is probably a real number. You can pay $6 and have the cards delivered the next day. Home Depot gift cards can be purchased for Canadian stores as well. They do point out, hoever, that the Canadian cards may only be used for Canadian stores. Lastly, gift card balances can be figured out by going into an actual home depot store and asking a cashier to check it for you. This is a little old school. I would encourage Home Depot to provide a way for gift card balances to be checked online.
